It Will Never End - 10.23

Top Update:

I've been building a software company since June.

Hirexe is creating a new hiring experience. Finding/hiring great talent was the largest problem scaling our last company from 4 to >30 people, and something every business owner/hiring manager struggles with.

The platform actively recommends/matches ideal candidates with the best companies/hiring managers based on individual wants and needs. Think a scalable, industry-specific headhunter (but a software platform and <90% cost).

(The website/logo/branding is still under heavy construction; I haven't officially announced anything on LinkedIn - but wanted to share it with you all here first!)

We started writing code in August and are 'soft launching' Gen 1 in November. More to come then :)

I'm writing a 'Build in Public' series if you're interested in monthly updates. You can sign up for those here and automatically be added to the distribution list!

Helping Friends:

A personal ask here! I'm pulling the best resources available online to help with all things hiring/interviewing, etc.

If you have articles/podcasts/books, anything you can send me that would help with the following topics, please do:

  • interview questions
  • hiring best practices
  • onboarding
  • interview prep

Here are examples of what I'm pulling together (helpful articles on interviewing/hiring/scaling your organization)

Thanks in advance!

Homework For Life After reading Matthew Dicks book, Storyworthy, I picked up a new habit. He calls it Homework For Life. It's just a daily journal entry. Every morning (or evening, if you prefer), take a minute and think back to the prior day. Go thru everything memorable that happened, and pull out the best story. Write down a quick sentence that highlights what the story is. Enough to give you context where your memory snaps back to that moment in time. Bonus points if you write down the...

Top Thought: I've been obsessing over systematizing the process to hire the best people all summer while building Hirexe. The most exciting part is that we’re transitioning from: Manual Processes -> Automated Systems The next transition = Automated Systems -> Usable Products How? Technology, of course! (software ui/ux + databases + AI models) Stick with me... The 2 most agonizing aspects of the hiring process: 1 - Quantitive Screening (resumes) These are easy yes/no questions to answer What...

It doesn't matter if you're a cutting-edge AI technology product or cooking giros on the corner in NYC. I often get asked this question for Hirexe - what makes you different? The answer is the 6 Y's.
